Hi I’m Lyra. I love making pots. Whether I am slowly pinching or throwing on the wheel I love the playful discovery of form, texture and utility.

I live in Oakland and work out of a studio I share with friends in Berkeley. My education in clay started in 2017 at Laney College in Oakland.

I love how pots are vessels of nourishment. Both by their function to hold what feeds us as well as how pots can bring  pause and beauty into our daily routines. My mom and sister are both chefs and my dad is a prolific gardener. Making pots for the table is my way of contributing to our shared meals.

When I am not covered in clay you can find me in the garden, fleeing to the woods or loving on both my West Coast and Philippine communities.
